One of my earliest musical memories is onstage during a performance of the opera Faust. As one of the toddler village children, I remember being absolutely fascinated with power of the human voice, the harp instrument, stage makeup and dry ice. My parents were amateur opera singers and while growing up in southern California, we frequently made trips to the San Diego Metropolitan to watch performances. They instilled in me a deep appreciation for classical music, and most importantly, they taught me that music is truly the universal language. I didn’t discover choral singing until my late teens, and instantly fell in love with the vocal harmonies, challenge, individuality and teamwork it takes to be part of musical ensemble. Since then, I have sung with numerous choral groups in Georgia (where I went to college) and Arizona, and I was formerly a member of the Arizona Arts Chorale and Jazz Singers. I love cooking, good wine, spending time outdoors with my husband and four-legged “kids”, and of course, singing! |

My first true memory of performing was at the age of 5. My Mother entered me in a Country Western amateur singing contest which I won 2nd place. (I’m sure it was completely due to my freckles, pigtails and the “I Love a Rainy Night” rendition!) I was raised in a small town in Kansas with 2 younger brothers. My Mother is an instrumental/choir teacher and my Father was a political science teacher- who played the trumpet in high school and college. Needless to say the whole family is “musically inclined”. I attended ASU and through out my 39 years I have performed with many chorale groups & community theatre troupes- my favorite performances were Marian in Music Man, Mabel in Pirates of Penzance and all performances with Carolyn Eynon |

Lori Bush Shepard is a life-long music lover, having performed in the Arizona Arts Chorale, the La Crosse (WI) Chamber Chorale, the La Crosse Choral Union, numerous church and college choirs and musical theater productions. Her love for music is inspired by her mother and grandfather, and she sings in their honor. |

I was born and raised in Stockholm, Sweden and moved to Arizona in 2007, via an eight year stint in Asia and three years in Annecy, France. I was an active musician all through my school years and I started to play the flute at the mere age of eight. I started singing at about the same age and have since been singing with various choirs and smaller groups in Sweden, Singapore, Japan, Hong Kong and now, a proud member of the Carolyn Eynon Singers. I studied music at Kungliga Musikhögskolan in Stockholm and voice with Ingegärd Swedrup also in Sweden. I live with my husband Ulf, and our two small children in Scottsdale, AZ, and I love to travel, cook, entertain and of course – sing. |

I have been singing ever since I can remember. Throughout middle school, high school, and college I participated in several choirs, singing varied repertoire and had the opportunity to be the soprano soloist on many occasions. In college I also began acting and performed in musical theater productions and was a paid soloist for special events such as weddings and anniversaries. I graduated from the University of the Pacific in northern California in 2000 with a Bachelor's Degree in Music Therapy. I currently work throughout the Phoenix area as a music therapist, working with children with disabilities, continuing my love for music and providing its therapeutic benefits to the children I help each day. |

Singing is my joy, along with others things, like husband and family. I have been singing forever, but alto since the 3rd grade when my teacher, Sister Mary Frances, picked my row to sing alto and I have been doing it ever since. I have been singing with Carolyn since 2001 and have enjoyed every minute. I also sing with my church choir, St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Church. My job is a part-time teller at Bank of America. My claim to fame is hiking in the Himalayas with a good friend in 1999. An additional highlight was graduating from Arizona State University, in May 2004 and going on Medicare in June 2004. I am really looking forward to many wonderful concerts with “CES”. |

Bonnie Kasten
|
After a 30 year career as a business consultant and executive, Bonnie now sings. and sings. and sings. She has served on local boards in officer positions, but prefers to sing, to paint, to play golf, to travel, and to enjoy her new home in the Bradshaw Mountains. Bonnie has one daughter, Stephanie; she and her family live in Philadelphia where you'll find Bonnie most holidays. Her "best friends" are Susie and Beau, two small white doggie fluffs who think she can do no wrong so must be barking up the wrong tree! Bonnie has advanced college degrees, one even in music, but they were so very long ago. Look for her new cd coming out around Christmas.

I hail from a family that loves music and loves to sing. I grew up singing in school choirs, church choirs and ensembles. I performed with a local contemporary Christian pop group in high school and a band for five years in the late 70's. I love all types of music from blue grass to classical. In addition to singing, my great passions in life are faith, family, friends and good books. |

"I auditioned for a choir by accident five years ago, and the end result was finally having an outlet for all of the singing that had been directed at the inside of my windshield for a decade. I've been enthralled with a cappella performance since watching Rockapella every afternoon on Where In The World Is Carmen Sandiego? while growing up, and am happy to have been accepted into such a fine group of singers." |

Chris is pleased to be singing with the Carolyn Eynon Singers. |

My music career began at age eight when I sat at my organ and learned to read "speed music" so I could play such songs as Do Re Mi and Climb Every Mountain. Right from the start, I knew that playing keyboards and singing were two things I wanted to do. In high school I played all the brass instruments and was also the accompanist for our school chorus. After graduating, I played for three years with the 1st Armored Division Band in Ansbach, Germany and then followed up with a year in the NH National Guard Band. For the next 15 years my musical interests lay dormant as I dedidated all my energy to my teaching. Just two short years ago, however, things changed when I discovered the Phoenix Metropolitan Men's Chorus and began signing with them. This led to two wonderful seasons of singing with the Arizona Musicfest Chrous, which then led me to the Carolyn Eynon Singers (Thanks, Bonnie!) where I am delighted to be able to sing with a group of very talented musicians. |

I have enjoyed singing for as long as I can remember. As a child, I sang in the church youth choir at Desert Palm UCC. I have played the saxophone for 11 years, but until joining the adult church choir last year, I have never sung in a structured setting. I love music in general! My first solo was this past Christmas Eve. I was appreciative for the opportunity to perform, it was a powerful experience for me. I am truly honored to be a part of the Carolyn Eynon Singers. |

Born in the San Francisco Bay Area and moved to Arizona in 2006 from Colorado, I have been a full-time church musician for the past 27 years, serving congregations in the western states. I began my musical life playing the trombone in third grade and developed that into a Bachelor of Arts in Music Performance from California State University at Hayward, under the tutelage of professor Daniel Livesay. I have played in a quintet with members of the McChord AFB Band, the Touch of Brass Big Band (San Jose), the Rocky Mountain Brassworks Band (Denver), and currently toot my horn with Bones Southwest in Glendale. I didn’t discover my true singing voice until my mid 30s at a choral master class with Dr. Charlene Archibeque at San Jose State - and I’m so glad I did. For five seasons I was the musical director and conductor of the Spice of Life community choir in Denver. I am married to our accompanist, Christine Kyhn. We have three grown children who are each fine musicians. It’s a blessing for me to add my voice to the Carolyn Eynon Singers and to play a part in advancing American choral music. |

My first singing experience was at the age of five. A neighbor made a record of me singing "The Girl That I Marry”. From that small beginning, a lifelong interest in singing began. I graduated from DePauw University with a major in Applied Voice in 1964 and have enjoyed singing in community choirs and church choirs through the years. One of the highlights of my college days was singing in an 18 voice ensemble, which performed for the military in Germany, France and the Far East under the auspices of the USO. |
