Kira Rugen

Dr Kira Rugen

Please welcome our very special guest performer, Kira Rugen.

From Kira: "I got an exceedingly wonderful surprise this weekend. I was named one of the Semi-Finalists for the American Prize in choral composition. I am among some very fine names on this list and could not be more pleased to be among them. It was such an honor to collaborate with Daniel Paulson and his fantastic choir Vox Musica for this commission.

I am honored to be commissioned by the Carolyn Eynon Singers to compose a song with text by Nancy Wood, a deceased poet from New Mexico. The song, entitled "HOLD ON" features boy soprano, string quartet, piano, and Treble boys choir and Adults with the message of Hope.... healing... and love."

World Premiere; for treble choir, adult choir, string quartet and piano composed by Dr Kira Rugen. Text HOLD ON by Nancy Wood. Carolyn Eynon Singers commissioned this 5 min work in 2019 to be performed, however Covid stalled the performance until NOW. Come hear the powerful setting of a hopeful, inspiring, loving text by Nancy Wood from New Mexico and meet Kira in person at the concert. Both the boys of the PBC and the MEN of MASTERS choir will join CES on this wonderful commission.
